Phoebe – Tabby Cat Memorial Tribute

Phoebe was with us for 15 wonderful years and was such an integral part of our family.

She was truly the boss, and she made that perfectly clear every morning — usually around 6:00 AM — when it was time for breakfast. Of course, feeding her once was rarely enough; two or even three servings were often required to meet Her Majesty’s standards.

After breakfast, Phoebe would proudly march ahead of me (as any Queen should), making sure I followed her properly to open the shutters so she could begin her daily birdwatching.

Later, she would make her way upstairs to her favorite perch by the open screened window, where she kept a close watch over the squirrels, chipmunks, and anything else daring to wander through her domain.

Lunch time was followed by a long, well-deserved afternoon nap.

By dinner, she was once again absolutely famished, patiently sitting in front of the food cupboard until I finally understood my duties.

Evenings were spent curled up on our laps while we watched TV, gently reminding us that perhaps just a tiny bit more food would be necessary to get her comfortably through the night.

When bedtime came, Phoebe would wait patiently until the lights were out before doing one final curious patrol of the house, making sure everything was safe. Only then would she jump onto the bed, curl up, and settle in for the night.

Phoebe was our precious girl — our Queen — and we miss and love her so very much. xx
