Mara Jade – Great Dane Dog Memorial Tribute

Mara found a place in my heart before I met her at 6 months old from a Facebook backyard breeder. Not a good situation , living in a garage with many others and coming with us was not even a question of where she belonged.

Once we got her home she learned quickly how to identify as a golden retriever as we had 4 at that time. Yoda taught her how to ring bells to go out and was house broken quickly.

Typical Great Dane. Those floppy ears were purely for decoration as listening was at her convenience. She quickly became my autistic grandson's comfort. She became my guardian, walking beside me to be sure I was steady. Her stealthness of climbing into bed quietly in the middle of the night was unmatched by the goldens.

3 years and 9 months was what we were granted before cancer took her. But we had her and she had us.
